On Friday 18th October I was delighted to welcome guests to my first solo Exhibition.   I presented my unique style of works entitled RAW to an eclectic and stylish bunch and was overwhelmed by their curiosity and compliments.  Lots of exciting networking took place and my head and calendar are now full of promising future projects.  Guests were entertained by Oscar, a humble and smiley dj playing a medley of chilled Ibizan sounds.

My art is a personal journey of self-discovery, raw and challenging, sometimes beautiful and joyful, but also dark and tumultuous.  The RAW collection reflects the vulnerability and sadness I’ve experienced, it’s expressed through unfiltered sketches of naked poses of other women.  It captures the raw honesty of being a woman navigating patriarchal pressures, rejecting objectification and offering an untamed female perspective.  Through this collection it was important to also create beauty drawn from the feminine, with the added challenge that it could be hung on walls and bring joy and colour.  I was both delighted and sad to say goodbye to some favourite original pieces and very happy to sell many prints.

Great fun was had with the ‘be your own muse’ competition, with many guests posing with their favourite pieces.  Congratulations to Lisa-Marie Holmes for posing with ‘Girls Just Wanna Have Fun’ and winning first prize.  Coming second was Star, Lunita Loca, posing with ‘Self Portrait’.  All the ‘Muses’ pics will be revealed in my next article.

I’d like to pay tribute to Ruth Hardy and her team.  Ruth was incredibly professional and supportive throughout the whole process and ensured the success of the evening.  Frank and Micaela for photos and prints.  Oscar, my new friend for fab music and vibes.   Alistair my ‘old friend’ for practical skills and support.  To Angela my wife for running around on the evening taking orders and collecting money. And of course, to all the guests that bought my art.

I have several projects in the pipeline but the next event will be held at Kiosko del Parque, Cozijvar on 14th December 11am – 6pm at their Christmas Market.  I will be drawing and painting ‘my muses’ live.    I have several muses already, but if you fancy making a commission or want to take part, I’d love to hear from you.
