Carol Reynolds feminist Art

Hi, I’m Carol and I’m an Artist.
Creative Rebel with a Cause.
Born in the UK, now thriving under the Andalusian sun, I’m a painter, storyteller and community creator, living with my wife, two dogs, one cat and far too many paintbrushes. My work is rooted in the divine feminine and the unapologetically queer; shaped by years of teaching, mothering, gardening and generally rebelling against patriarchal nonsense.
I make art that women and sapphics see themselves in, often revealing more about their own stories than mine. I’m a proud lesbian, Reiki Master and lover of all things woo woo (think witchcraft, astrology, Feng Shui and the occasional full moon ritual with a beer). My studio is half sacred space, half glorious mess.
If you’re into creative rebellion that celebrates women, challenges the patriarchy and still hold space for beauty, colour and emotional truth, you’ll probably like what I make.
We’ll get on just fine.

We all carry untold stories within us, and they inevitably surface through our mannerisms, words, health, work and creative expressions. There’s no hiding from them. Embrace them.
My Story
My art is a personal journey of self-discovery, raw, challenging, sometimes beautiful and joyful, but also dark, sad and tumultuous. It’s cathartic and life-affirming, even when it leads to self-doubt and rage.
My studio is my sanctuary, a space for deep reflection and unfiltered emotions. Here time dissolves, and feelings shift from dancing, to tears, from canvases I hide, to those I proudly display. It’s a space I both bless and curse, but am honoured to have.
My work, is always about women, our life journeys and collective experiences. Whilst it aims to portray and discuss the challenges we face navigating a patriarchal world, I’m determined that the medium, colours and style are beautiful and joyful enough to enhance any wall.

Art as Rebellion: Fighting the Patriarchy Through Creativity
Art has always been a weapon of resistance, like a well-aimed stiletto at an unwelcome mansplainer. Women throughout history have wielded creativity like a battle axe, challenging oppression, reclaiming their narratives, and carving out spaces for self-expression. My work, especially my project RAW, follows this legacy. It asks what it means to exist, create, and rebel within a patriarchal world. And answers with colour, unique form and the vulnerable truth.

Below The Belt – More Dirty Tackle
Let’s get one thing clear: what’s below my belt? That’s between me, my doctor and maybe a lover, not a judge, not a journalist and definitely not a stranger in a toilet queue. This umbrella series brings together two collections: Intersecting and What’s in My Pants is None of Your Fucking Business. They push back against the relentless public obsession with sexual identity, genitalia, and public toilets. The UK Supreme Court’s

Branded: Two Art Pieces Born from Rage, Shame and a Need to Speak
The Catalyst: When Public Stories Strike Personal Chords In 2023, the sexual assault allegations made against Russell Brand triggered a wave of conflicting emotions in me, anger, disbelief, betrayal, and a deep sense of knowing. His public denial, cloaked in self-righteous spiritualism, echoed a script that many of us have heard before. The powerful man positioning himself as the true victim, while the voices of his accusers were cast into doubt. “innocent
